When the Village Green Medical Centre was built in 1994 at Great Denham near Bedford they wanted to use a modular building system to take advantage of the speed of construction benefits. The planning authorities agreed, on the condition that the building would eventually be over clad with a finish that would blend in with the surrounding residential area. The original exterior cladding of the building became aged and so the time came to replace it.
The client chose Eurobrick’s P-Clad system for the ground floor and this was complemented by a low maintenance timber effect system to the first floor. Installation was carried out by our approved installer Industrial Contracting Services (ICS) based in Derby. They installed circa 315m² of P-Clad with Rustic Inferno Multi slips and corners with a Smooth Brown plinth detail to the ground floor. Combined with the timber effect cladding, the overall finish has rejuvenated the exterior and has extended the building’s lifespan.

It was important that the busy doctors’ surgery remained fully open during the project with no disruption to patients. The contract was completed in 6 weeks using an innovative mixture of access solutions as well as out of hours working, programmed to minimise disruption to patients.
Paul Fereday of ICS commented,
“The overall finish has given this modular building a new lease of life with an appearance that blends in well with the surrounding new residential
development. Towards the end of the project many of the people visiting the medical centre commented on how much the appearance had improved.”
The client was pleased with the job and commented how quickly and efficiently ICS delivered the project, especially whilst working in a live environment and minimising disruption to the medical centre and people using it. ICS have been a Eurobrick approved installer for 10 years and specialise in modular buildings. Over that time they have installed our systems to numerous projects.
