Suppliers of: Cellular Glass Insulation Insulation Boards Roof Insulation Wall Insulation Floor insulation
Foamglas is a unique load bearing thermal insulation material which prevents thermal bridges and also provides passive fire protection.
Owens Corning FOAMGLAS® is part of Owens Corning, whom operate worldwide in the field of insulation, roofing, waterproofing and fiberglass-composite materials.
Established in the UK for over 30 years, Owens Corning offers professional technical advice for all FOAMGLAS® cellular glass applications. Products include high performance, long-lasting, environmentally friendly insulation materials for the entire building envelope: -
- External wall and façade systems
- Below ground wall and floor insulation systems
- Interior floor, wall and ceiling insulation systems
- Roof insulation systems - flat roof cut-to-falls insulation system
- Perinsul HL, a unique load-bearing thermal insulation material which prevents thermal bridges at wall : floor junctions
Foamglas blocks and boards are manufactured from sustainable recycled glass and provide excellent thermal, fire and load-bearing properties for a wide range of applications including:-
Thermal Breaks at Ground Floor Level
FOAMGLAS® PERINSUL is a load bearing insulated block that prevents thermal bridging and damp penetrating buildings at ground level and is Certified by the BBA. By replacing bricks with FOAMGLAS® PERINSUL insulated blocks at the base of walls, thermal bridging is virtually eliminated at ground floor level.
FOAMGLAS® PERINSUL also provides a waterproof thermal barrier helping prevent damp from penetrating at the base of walls. Made from recycled cellular glass FOAMGLAS® PERINSUL is a sustainable building element.
Floor Slab Insulation
Foamglas can be installed either above or below ground floor slabs. It may also be used, in accordance with the structural engineer, as load-bearing thermal insulation in contact with ground soil and areas with constant water pressure.
Basement Wall Insulation
Walls which are in contact with subsoil are especially susceptible to damp. Foamglas external wall insulation is made of cellular glass and therefore acts as a vapour barrier, furthermore Foamglas does not rot or warp, nor is it degraded by insects and vermin. Foamglas when installed at basement level provides long lasting reliable protection and insulation for underground walls.
Facade Insulation
Foamglas unique properties prevent cold bridges on warm facades, cavity walls and ventilated rainscreen cladding. Being inert and a full surface insulation system that includes compact bonding of the insulation layer Foamglas insulation guarantees that the system is completely air-tight. Foamglas is also non combustible and certified fireproof to EN 13501: A1.
Flat Roof Insulation
Foamglas is the ideal insulate for a range of flat roofing requirements including compact flat roofs subject to foot traffic, car park decks, green roofing, two-layer waterproofed flat roofs and standard roof structures for accessed roofs.
Foamglas properties are unique and include:
- FOAMGLAS is made of hermetically sealed glass cells
- Waterproof FOAMGLAS does not absorb any moisture and does not rot or swell.
- Load-bearing FOAMGLAS does not compress or deform
- Fireproof FOAMGLAS is completely inert, and classed EN 13501: A1.
- Dimensionally stable to nearly the same level as steel and concrete.
- Inorganic providing no nesting, food or seed germination to animals, insects or vegetation
- Sustainable, made from recycled glass FOAMGLAS contains no eco-toxic materials such as flame-retardants. FOAMGLAS is infinitely recyclable
- Easy to cut and can be cut to any desired measurement
- Acid resistant and resistant to most aggressive mediums and atmospheres
