Balcony's curved glass is 'focal point of the design'
Banstead, Surrey
Contractor: David Rose Construction
Two impressive glass elevations form the main focal point of the design to an extension at Weston Acres, a retired seafarers' care home near Banstead in the Surrey countryside.
Balcony Systems supplied more than 30 metres of curved windows and sliding curved doors to create a unique statement in the vaulted Day Room at the Royal Alfred Seafarers' Society flagship nursing home, residential care and housing centre.
Known as the '150th Anniversary Project' celebrating 150 years of providing care to former mariners, the national maritime charity's new extension and refurbished facilities were officially opened by their royal Patron, HRH the Princess Royal in July 2015.
