OsmaDrain makes a difference at Pilsdon Community Project
The Pilsdon Community is a small working farm that offers accommodation and work for homeless people suffering from mental health issues.
As part of its redevelopment led by construction charity CRASH – including a barn restoration and conversion of stable blocks into accommodation – we donated OsmaDrain pipe, fittings and Inspection Chambers worth almost £6,000 to bring the below ground drainage system up to standard.
The challenge: A poorly functioning sewage treatment system
CRASH completed the two phase redevelopment with Patron Company BAM Construct as main contractor. Following the second phase, the conversion of a stable block into short-term accommodation, it was discovered that the site’s sewage treatment system wasn’t functioning properly and the concrete water tank was showing signs of severe deterioration.
Our approach: OsmaDrain and Recycore Technology
With over 70 metres of 110mm drainage pipe and a number of shallow and universal Inspection Chambers required, we offered the perfect solution with our expansive OsmaDrain range. In keeping with the community’s ecological ethos, the pipe is unique in the industry and features our Recycore Technology. This innovation sees the creation of a pipe that contains at least 50% recycled product but performs just like virgin pipe.
The benefit: High quality performance
All of the pipe fittings supplied from the OsmaDrain range also provided unique benefits to both the installer and client. Made using a manufacturing process that delivers the most robust captive seal system, this makes it practically impossible to dislodge it during installation.
With the development requiring a number of Inspection Chambers, we were able to supply three different types for both shallow and deep applications and the Pilsdon Community’s drainage system was upgraded free of charge with high quality products that will deliver proven performance and reliability as the community continues to grow.
