CSI (formerly Chubb Security Installations), now part of Safetell Limited, is a specialist supplier of high security products including attack, bullet, fire, and blast protection doors, and secure enclosure
equipment. Created in 1968 CSI has 45 years of experience in the design and manufacture of very high protection security products.
The threat level of a terrorist attack in the UK is currently indicated by the UK Government as severe, i.e. highly likely, both across the UK from international terrorism, and in Northern Ireland
from Northern Ireland related terrorism. In the context of the increasing risk of terrorist threat CSI and Safetell have participated in the latest Government testing programme for Blast Resistant products.
Testing to the new UK standard using 500kgs of explosive at 28 metres.
The CSI Safetell ‘Stronghold Plus’ blast resistant doors, submitted for testing, passed the blast test with exceptional performance, achieving the Government test designation of “Minimum Risk Very
High Protection”.
Achieving this extremely high level of protection demonstrates Safetell’s commitment to ongoing development of its products to the highest of standards. CSI Safetell are now the only UK door solutions
provider that can offer steel doors certificated to the very latest standard.
In the coming weeks the CSI Safetell Stronghold Plus door will be entered into the Government supplier register for blast resistant solutions, ideally suited to protecting Critical National Infrastructure facilities in the UK and abroad.
In addition to its blast resistance the Stronghold Plus door is also bullet resistant, intrusion resistant, and 4 hour fire rated to BS476 (Part 22).
Terrorist and criminal selection of softer targets is driving the need for improved protection in many areas. The combined protective performance of the Stronghold Plus door makes it an ideal selection
for infrastructure and other corporate risk applications.
