At the Centre for Business & Employment Clarification (CEB) in Herning, Denmark, 120 meals are prepared daily by a kitchen staff of 12-20 people. A total kitchen refit was needed, and it was decided to replace the existing tile floor with Altro Stronghold 30, a slip-resistant safety floor ideal for wet and greasy conditions found in kitchens.
Initially it was suggested to install another tile floor, but the service team, along with janitor Ivan Bräuner , felt a vinyl floor would be better suited for the kitchen.
"The cleaning staff are extremely happy with the new floor. Everyone says it was good that we decided on a vinyl floor as it is easier to clean and looks more attractive than a tiled floor. I believe the time we spend on cleaning has been halved. We wash the floor as often as before, but it is cleaned a lot faster," said Ivan Bräuner.
An additional benefit to the new floor is that at 3mm thick, Altro Stronghold 30 is more comfortable to walk on.
"Due to its thickness, the new floor has an elasticity which makes it really comfortable to walk on and is not so hard as the tiled floor we had before," said Ivan Bräuner.
