Barrial Guardrails from ICB are providing the ultimate in roof safety having been installed on the Warden Tavern and Restaurant in Luton - allowing safe and secure access for maintenance works and to ensure mechanical engineers are protected when working at height.

To protect workers servicing the rooftop mechanical ducting system for the Warden Tavern, a Beefeater Restaurant owned by the Whitbread Group, a safety system was required. The versatility and proven performance of Barrial from ICB proved the perfect solution whilst also meeting the required British Standards and working at height regulations.

"We designed a system which met the required standards, incorporating 14.8 linear metres of fixed Barrial handrails and a gateway system for easy access," commented ICB's Alex Ziemianska.

Supplied in mill finished aluminium, the complete Barrial specification included a fixed system positioned around a mechanical ducting system and a gateway system to enable easy access for maintenance.

Available as part of either the fixed, freestanding or folding comprehensive solution for rooftops, ICB has demonstrated the Barrial system's outstanding versatility at the Warden Tavern. Supplying safety rails since 1999, Barrial offered the perfect solution having met all safety requirements in the UK and Europe.

Following the highly successful application, ICB will work on a new Whitbread Group project - providing a safe working area for essential maintenance at Halfway House in Dunstable and The Premier Inn, Ealing.
