Our laboratory has been busy! And we are excited to tell you about an upgrade to one of our most popular tapes, T577.
T577 is sometimes thought of as a lower performance version of our T555. That is unfair. It is true to say that T555 is our highest performing tissue tape - and unmatched in the market. We have supplied it for over 20 years, and it is our biggest selling such tape. Because of this, some of our other products can be left in the shade.
But we never leave key products in the shade for long! So we have worked hard to develop the unique features of T577 even further. Read what it can do for you below.

The Benefits of T577- And How We Have Improved Them
T 577 was designed for bonding to low surface enargy materials. That includes many common plastics such as polyethylene and polypropylene. It also applies to many powder coated paints, UV cured varnishes and other modern materials and surfaces.
This product has also been used for bonding to foams and other textured surfaces, but it had limited ability to cope with rougher surfaces. We wanted to improve its adhesion in this respect, so that T577 became a truly multi-purpose tape. Essentially, we needed to increase the weight of adhesive on the product - but without increasing the cost. Which meant a complete re-formulation of the product.
We are very proud of the result. The improved T 577 is 0.16 mm thick and bonds very well to low surface energy materials and to foams felts fabrics and many other materials. Yet it retains good shear strength for longer term performance, and operates over an even wider temperature range than the original. A resounding success!
