Olympics Mural

The Hydron Mural Paints and Anti Graffiti Coatings have recently been used to complete a complex and delicate painting project on a new road bridge being constructed in East London, part of the transport network for the Olympic Park.

The new Angel Lane bridge for vehicles, cyclists and pedestrians creates a new link in Stratford town centre. The Olympic Delivery Authority instigated a design competition for students at London's Royal College of Art for a mural to be painted along one side of the bridge.

The winning design is an intricate pattern of white clouds against a blue sky, created by a laser-cut stencil system of almost 30,000 sequenced squares to give a pixilated visual impression of the design.

The Nu-Guard Mural Paint was used for the coloured design and then overcoated with Nu-Guard Clear AF to protect against graffiti.

The project was carried out by S Lucas Painting Contractors and was completed in mid-August.
