Naylor Thermachem chosen as the drainage material for Fruit of the Loom Plant Morocco

July 2021

Fruit of the Loom is one of the worlds largest manufacturers of printable t-shirts, employing around 32,000 people around the world. It chose Morocco for a new production plant due to its economic stability and links to European markets. The whole factory covers an area of 33 hectares, equivalent to 73 football pitches. The dyeing process creates a high temperature effluent that also contains aggressive chemicals, the plant has 21 jet-dying machines that operate automatically.

Naylor Thermachem was chosen as the drainage material due to its excellent thermal shock and aggressive chemical resistance properties. It was used with Naylor Band-Seal chemical couplings giving full chemical resistance. Fruit of the Loom are a WRAP (Worldwide Responsible Accredited Production) accredited manufacturer, a small part of this is to ensure safe operation of their drainage system.
