Rye Heritage Centre Revamped
Rye Heritage Centre, a much-loved attraction exploring the history and heritage of Rye is currently undergoing a revamp with a new area being built and decorated using Albany paint by master craftsman Richard Langley.
The centre uses a variety of formats to engage visitors in Rye’s long and interesting history including a model town, various walks and audio guides and now a trompe l’oeil of a pier scene. The immersive space in which the mural has been painted will house a collection of vintage penny slot machines, giving a feeling of being on a pier.
The mural has been exclusively painted in Albany paints, in carefully selected RAL colours which have enabled Richard to mix the shades required for the incredible detail shown. Richard has many years of experience creating engaging murals and in trompe l’oeil – literally translating as fooling the eye – to bring an idea to life and give an illusion of something that’s not there.

Brewers Decorator Centre in Eastbourne has supported the project with donation of Albany Vinyl Matt.
