A72 widening at Dirtpot Corner project shortlisted at 2020 Ground Engineering Awards
The Terramesh System project is located in one of the most scenic locations in Scotland, Peebles, alongside the River Tweed
We are delighted to have been shortlisted with Scottish Borders Council Contracts, Albion Drilling and MHB Consultants in the 2020 GE Awards from Ground Engineering Magazine.
The project features an anchored hybrid reinforced soil structure supporting the A72 at Peebles in Scotland.
Technically challenging, the project required good collaboration within the team and then accurate construction programming of the specialist subcontractors on the constrained site.
Maccaferri’s construction division installed Terramesh and gabions. Client, Scottish Borders Council employed an Environmental Clerk of Works to ensure that the construction works had minimal impact on the River Tweed which flowed alongside the site.
The project also featured in Ground Engineering Magazine November 2019 edition. Ground Engineering Awards will take place on Wednesday 4 November 2020.
