We are continuing to work through the second national lockdown with an only slightly reduced workforce and have made significant inroads into the backlog of work with which we were faced on our return in June.
Higher than usual levels of activity over the summer however, combined with staff absence and the need to use up holiday leave, mean that we are currently working on an extended lead time of 6 – 8 weeks rather than our usual 4 – 6 weeks, for many items.
We have already taken steps to address this but inevitably such measures take time for their effects to be felt. Our Christmas shutdown this year will commence on 23rd December and we will reopen on 04th January 2021. Due to the high volumes of traffic experienced by carriers in the run up to Christmas and the consequent increased risks of loss and damage, we are aiming not to dispatch any orders in the week commencing 21st December.
Please be aware that, in the case of some aluminium notice boards, elements of which are imported from Europe, we are already experiencing some disruption to supply and extended delivery times due to delays at the ports and, in the light of the continuing uncertainty about post-Brexit arrangements, it is likely that this may continue for some time into the new year.
