WICONA EXHIBITS AT BAU 2019
Top-class stand design, exciting new products, engaging discussions and – for the first time – additional in-depth technical seminars: visitors to the WICONA stand at BAU were given a multi-faceted experience of attractive solutions for urban evolution.
The stand concept, with its centrally located “Central Park”, was dominated by a sort of upside-down building structure, gleaming mirrored surfaces which drew the eyes upwards and externally positioned exhibits, which sparked great enthusiasm among the exhibition guests. Open on all sides and perfectly accessible, this exhibition stand was a pure invitation to discover new things. Internationality was the name of the game from the vast crowds on the stand from the very start of the exhibition – professional visitors ranging from North America, many European countries and South-east Asia. Fabricators and façade construction companies made the up the traditionally strongest group, followed by architects and planners as well as investors and general contractors.
In terms of content, the launch of the “Infinite Aluminium by WICONA” range took centre stage. Ralf Seufert, Chairman of the Board, stated: “With this initiative, we are getting directly into the reuse of end-of-life aluminium in our production. By the end of the year, we want to switch to this process for 40% of the WICONA range. By doing this, we will save approximately 20,000 tonnes of CO2 per year and reduce our CO2 footprint by 30%!”
In terms of products and systems, guests showed great interest in the WICSLIDE 75FD and WICSLIDE 150 PS sliding door solutions. Also in focus were the new generation of WICTEC EL element façade and the WICLINE 70SG structural glazing window range.
Of course, there was no shortage of interest in the social items on the agenda, either, with the ever-popular Happy Hour stand parties after 6.00 p.m. Both here and on every day of the exhibition communication, networking and expert discussions were the key features of what, in every respect, was a successful appearance by WICONA at BAU 2019.
