Redrow Homes specify Forticrete’s Gemini for luxury housing project

October 2018

Forticrete's award-winning Gemini roof tile has been specified by Redrow Homes (NW) as the tiling solution of choice for its new bespoke enclave of luxury country homes in the village of Stretton in Cheshire.

Sitting adjacent to the stunning golf courses of Carden Park, Redrow's new collection of beautifully crafted luxury homes, Stretton Green, comprises 19 four and five bedroom properties and six affordable homes. Each is built to an individual specification yet carefully designed to sit harmoniously within the local vernacular. Redrow Homes specified Forticrete's innovative Gemini twin interlocking tile in Sunrise Blend and Mixed Russet to complement the development's existing vernacular.

John Daglish, Commercial Director at Redrow Homes (NW), commented: "Our homes at Stretton Green have been inspired by the traditional architectural styles for which this area is renowned. It was important to us that each home had individual character but complimented its existing surroundings.

"The key to successful design is in the detail and our materials, including our roof tiles, were all carefully chosen to convey quality and craftsmanship. We selected Forticrete's tiles as they provided the desired standard of finish befitting of this impressive development."

Forticrete's Gemini interlocking plain tiles have been specifically designed to replicate the look and feel of traditional plain tiles, therefore maintaining the appearance of a traditional plain tile roof. They have 40% less CO2 emissions per m2 roof and improved coverage, using less tiles per m2 making it a much more cost effective solution.

As well as being extremely energy efficient, these next generation roofs tiles are aesthetically pleasing, easy-to- install and high in quality. They have been specifically designed as interlocking tiles which are just 270mm x 337mm overall, yet because of a carefully judged central groove and innovative 'double cambered' design, they have the appearance of two traditional plain tiles side by side when laid, effectively laying two tiles at a time.

They feature increased tile strength and an even stronger, tighter interlock as standard and because they are easy to install, the cost to lay them is also significantly reduced.
