Pegler Yorkshire, has launched its latest Continuous Personal Development (CPD) module aimed at supporting the increase in heat free jointing requirements.
Eleanor Johnson, Fittings market manager for Pegler Yorkshire commented: “Personal and professional development is critical to the future proofing of our industry. It’s well documented there is a huge skills gap within the general construction industry and we believe it is our duty to provide learning modules that address current needs and support both a person’s and company’s future development.”
The new accredited CPD module - ‘Benefits of Heat Free Jointing’ - addresses key issues now found on many projects where heat is not permissible. It talks about the history and evolution of jointing technology, the development behind the proficiency of the technology, how to make the most of push and press solutions plus, what projects have successfully incorporated heat free jointing into their build and even integrated with old existing systems.
“We have already received great feedback on this new CPD and hope that more and more industry professionals complete it,” continued Eleanor. “We have made learning easy to access for all so either individuals can log on and complete it via our online training programme or we can deliver the module to groups of company employees at their offices. Either way we are keen to encourage more and more of our industry to continue their learning process whether or not they are just starting out or have been doing the job for over 30 years.”
Other online training modules developed by Pegler Yorkshire and, which can be accessed via ‘My PY’ on the company’s website, cover topics such as; Central Heating, Taps & Mixers, Metal Push-fit and Commissioning. Additionally, Pegler Yorkshire is continuing to develop a portfolio of CPD site seminars which currently include; the Importance of Anti-Microbial taps in infection control for health care sectors, Safety and Efficiency of Water Systems in line with Part G of Building Regulations and the Code for Sustainable Homes.
