Construction of a £12 million state of the art concrete block production unit to commence in Leeds
Thomas Armstrong Group, the largest privately owned building block manufacturer in the UK is to start the construction of a £12 million production unit at Cross Green, Leeds. This will replace its current production facility at Garforth. The new facility at Cross Green will have state of the art production methods and will incorporate carbon negative raw materials in the manufacturing process. The £12 million investment in this new facility will be funded entirely from cash resources and no grant or funding assistance will be sought as it is the Groups policy to be self-sufficient when it comes to capital investment.
This investment demonstrates the Groups confidence in the Leeds area and will not only safeguard current jobs but will also create further employment.
The Group operates from nine production units across the North of England producing 72 million blocks per year. The production unit at Garforth which trades as Stocks Blocks produces 25 million blocks per year.
