Luxury 5 Star Hotel Selects Schlüter Waterproofing Solutions
Just a stroll away from The Shard, Schlüter-Systems provided wetroom solutions within the impressive complex for the luxurious Hilton London Bankside hotel and apartments.
This 5-star hotel is an eight storey building with 292 designer inspired guest rooms, a penthouse apartment which boasts a roof terrace, conference and leisure facilities.
Bankside is an area currently amidst an urban renewal and the hotel is perfectly placed for many popular London attractions from Tate Modern to Borough Market. It prides itself on its OXBO restaurant and The Distillery, which is a cocktail bar inspired by the original essence factory that stood on the site, Stevenson & Howells Standard Works, and stocks over 50 hand-picked gins.
From the old to the new, Schlüter-System’s market-leading, integrated wetroom solutions were selected to ensure a watertight solution. The uncoupling membrane, Schlüter®-DITRA 25 which has been tried, tested and trusted for over 25 years, serves as a waterproofing membrane and a vapour pressure equalisation layer, protecting tile or natural stone coverings from cracking or debonding.
Accompanying the waterproofing and uncoupling membrane were, Schlüter®-KERDI-COLL-L a two-component sealant adhesive, Schlüter®-KERDI-KEBA, a sealing band used to seal mat connections and floor to wall connections and Schlüter®-KERDI-KERECK which is pre-formed internal and external corners, these all form part of an integrated CE Marked waterproofing solution, used in particular where joints occur to form bonded waterproofing in conjunction with Schlüter®-DITRA 25.
